James Cuthill was born in Mexico, raised in Colorado and British Columbia, and currently lives in downtown Denver.

He began piping at the age of 11 with the Colorado Youth Pipe Band.

He was a member of both the Robert Malcolm Memorial juvenile band, and the Robert Malcolm Memorial gr.2 band from 1994-2002.  He has also won numerous solo prizes throughout North America.

James is now the director and president of the Colorado Youth Pipe Band, and a band and solo adjudicator for WUSPBA.
