Iris started on the tenor drum as a freshman in the Upland High School Pipe Band.  She led the drum corps for the high school on snare for the following three years until she graduated in 2006.  She began playing snare with the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band grade 4 in 2004 and moved to lead tip for the grade 4 from 2005 through 2007.  All the while continuing to practice the tenor, she moved to the grade 3 band with the midsection from 2006 to 2008.  In 2007, Iris competed with the grade 3 in the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. 

She is in her third year at the University of California in Irvine studying Political Science and International Studies and is currently the instructor for the House of Scotland grade four tenor corps in San Diego, CA.
