Glen Started Playing the pipes as a young lad. His first teacher was Jimmy Thomson.  As a teenager he received a scholarship to study full time one summer at the College of Piping with Duncan Johnstone.  Duncan often had guest teachers come to listen and help with a tune, including Ronnie Lawrie, Donald MacLeod and another of Glen's favourites today, Angus J. MacLellan.   Glen has had long term tutelage from Jimmy McColl and Big Angus Macdonald, mostly in the big music.

Glen has Played int he LA Scots Junior Pipe Band, the Anderson Highlanders, The Caledonian Pipe band, A summer with the Glasgow Skye, Cabar Feidh under Andy Ross the reedmaker, and was Jimmy McColl's long term Pipe Sergeant at the Cabar Feidh.

After a brief stint with the LA Scots and the LA Police, Glen went back to the Cabar Feidh as Pipe Major.  The band competed at the worlds in Grade two, won Inverkeithing in G2 and played up to third place in Grade one.

Although Glen has spent many years on the boards in solo competition, he recently has spent the majority of his times as an adjudicator and teacher.
